Help make this properly

This is a community history made to broadcast standard. That takes archive licences, translators, access services and time with people whose memories cannot wait.

Open an archive

Mosque committees, community organisations, employers and local newspapers often hold material nobody has catalogued. We will do the work; we need the access.

Introduce a contributor

First-generation voices are the most urgent part of this project. If you know someone who arrived before 1970, please tell us.

Fund a strand

Archive licensing, translation, scanning and access services are the costs that decide whether this reaches broadcast standard.

Translate

Gujarati and Urdu speakers are needed for interview support, transcription and subtitle checking.

Host a screening

Schools, mosques, libraries and community centres can host work-in-progress screenings and feed corrections back into the research.

Volunteer research time

Local history skills, newspaper indexing and census work all move the claim register forward.
